Safari was founded on February 1st, 1995 by Knút A. S. Lützen, who served as the company’s manager until 2015. With a vision to streamline shipping to and from the Faroe Islands for local customers, the logistics provider based in a 20-foot container on the dock in Tórshavn was established.

Today Safari is a mature enterprise based in Hoyvík with 11 employees including drivers, accredited freight forwarders and apprentices, coordinators, accountants, and management. The founder Knút A. S. Lützen still serves as the CEO while Jan Slættalíð is the company’s manager.
